In an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, Google CEO Larry Page said that Steve Jobs hatred to Android was for show

“I think the Android differences were actually for show. I had a relationship with Steve. I wouldn’t say I spent a lot of time with him over the years, but I saw him periodically. Curiously enough, actually, he requested that meeting. He sent me an e-mail and said: “Hey, you want to get together and chat?” I said, “Sure, I’ll come over.” And we had a very nice talk. We always did when we had a discussion generally.”

As seen on a podcast, which features John Gruber of Daring Fireball and 5by5′s Dan Benjamin, when Benjamin asked if Gruber thought a 7.85″ iPad would ever be released, Gruber said:

“Well, I don’t know. What I do know is that they have one in the lab…a 7.85 inch iPad that runs at 1024×768… it’s just like the 9.7″ iPad shrunk down a little bit. Apps wouldn’t need to be recompiled or redesigned to work optimally on it. It’s just the iPad smaller.”

Is this the Google Nexus tablet?

April 4th, 2012 by Bhavesh Kakadiya No comments »

Recently, there as been much speculation about Google preparing a low cost Nexus tablet. It was also rumored that the tablet will be manufactured by Asus. Now PocketNow has got, what seems to be the prototype picture of the Nexus tablet.

“First of all, the only visible on-screen icons are for Google products — none of the third party apps or widgets that you’d expect to see on a Samsung, Motorola, or even Viewsonic tablet. It’s about as naked of an Android experience as you could hope to find on a modern tablet. Secondly — and this seems to be the most compelling evidence — the Ice Cream Sandwich soft keys and pictured time of 4:00AM are a dead match for the classic Samsung Galaxy Nexus render with muted rainbow wallpaper. ”

According to Macotakara (Google translation), Foxconn is currently hiring 18,000 new workers to support production of the new iPhone. According to the recruiter, the iPhone 5 is planned to launch in June. It is very unlikely that a recruiter might be knowing about iPhone 5, so I would take this news with a pinch of salt.
