Samsung Galaxy S3 to be launched today

Currently the most awaited Android phone is Samsung Galaxy S3. There has been lots of rumors and leaked pictures, but the wait is finally going to be get over as Samsung will be unveiling its flagship Galaxy S3 today within few hours. Galaxy S3 will be unveiled at 7PM local time in London. Samsung has hosting an Mobile Unpacked Event for the launch.  The smartphone is rumored to sport a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED Plus HD screen. It is also expected to have a Exynos 4 quad-core processor with support for 4G LTE and Android 4.0 with 12 MP camera. The smartphone will be available in Blue and White. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Arrives on November 13th

Activision has announced sequel to its famous game Call of Duty: Black Ops. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 occurs years into the future (2025) where an enemy seizes control of high-tech, unmanned war machines that were designed to protect the country. The story seems promising and Black Ops 2 will be released on November 13th.

Galaxy Nexus will not be launched in India

Google’s flagship Galaxy Nexus was the first smartphone to be launched with Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich and was manufactured by Samsung. Galaxy Nexus was expected to be launched in India by end of January but, since then the launch has been delayed. Now Samsung India through their twitter handle has said that they will not be launching Galaxy Nexus in India. Samsung might be afraid that Galaxy Nexus would have eaten up their Galaxy Note sales and thus they decided not to launch Galaxy Nexus in India. Tizen 1.0 Larkspur SDK and Source Code Released

Intel and Nokia had together developed Meego OS, but Nokia ditched Meego to favor Windows Phone 7. The Meego was to be developed into new OS called TIZEN and it is being looked after by Linux Foundation, Samsung (Limo Foundation where Samsung in major contributor) and Intel. Well Tizen has acquired status of version 1.0 and SDK has been released along with source code. Tizen platform is an open-source, standards-based software platform that supports multiple devices including smartphones,tablets, smart TVs, netbooks and in-vehicle ‘infotainment’ systems. Now Samsung has Android, Windows Phone, Bada and Tizen in its kitty and is expected to discontinue its Bada OS. Angry Birds get their theme park in Finland

We have seen Angry Birds games, cookbooks, speakers, toys and even bra. Now, its time to think big! Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds have signed a deal with playground equipment manufacturer – Lappset, to create two Angry Birds inspired playgrounds in Finland. According to reports form Pocket Lint, Angry Birds fans can now visit Angry Birds Land at Särkänniemi Theme Park in Finland. The theme park is open from 1st May  but will be opened officially on June 8th. Head on to source for more images of the park.

AT&T to unlock off contract iPhones starting today

Starting today, AT&T will start unlocking iPhones of customer who have completed their 2 year contracts or have paid early termination fees. This policy change will make it extremely easy for AT&T customers to legitimately and permanently unlock their iPhones for use on any network.

Here is an official statement form AT&T:

“Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer’s account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee.”
