iOS 5.1 now available for update

Just after its iPad launch event, Apple its iOS 5.1 update. The most notable features for iOS 5.1 include Siri support for Japanese users, a new camera app for iPad, and a new camera shortcut. iOS 5.1 is available for the iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, and iPod touch 3G. iTunes 10.6 is also released along with iOS 5.1. Here is the change log for iOS 5.1:

The new iPad is not called iPad 3

All the this we have been calling it iPad 3 and many had even guessed it as iPad HD, but Apple would like to call it just “The new iPad”. Yes you heard it right, Apple as done away all the numbering with this new iPad.According to WSJ, Apple’s senior vice president of world-wide marketing, Phil Schiller, simply said that Apple broke from the convention “because we don’t want to be predictable”. Apple drops iPad 2 prices, $399 for Wi-Fi only model

I thought that Apple will discontinue iPad 2 once iPad 3 is unveiled, that is what happened with first generation iPad when iPad 2 was launched. But to my surprise, iPad 2 still exist with a price drop of $100 i.e. iPad 2 16GB Wi-Fi will cost $399 and 3G will cost $529. These price drop by Apple is surely going to give its competitor a tough time.

The iPad 3 is now official. We all have been waiting for this tablet to be unveiled by Apple and its finally here. As rumored iPad 3 has 9.7-inch retina display with 3.1 million pixels in a 2048 x 1536 resolution. It is powered by A5X quad graphics chip. It has got new iSight camera (what Apple likes to call it) with 5MP camera, which has same setup has iPhone 4S - 5-element lens, IR filter, and ISP built into ​the A5X chip. 1080p video recording is also possible with iPad3′s new camera. » Read more: The new iPad 3 is here!

Apple unveils new Apple TV with 1080p support

If you are thinking, what’s cooking at Apple’s iPad 3 launch event then for starters – Apple has unveiled its new Apple TV with full 1080p support. It is now integrated with iCloud with whole new interface. The new Apple TV will be available for $99 from next week.

Well the day has finally been arrived, when Apple will unveil its new iPad 3. Just 10 hrs from now, we all would be glued to our computers to see what Apple has in store for us. I would try to cover the event live and keep you updated. Till then we can just predict what would be unveiled at the event. In short, a new generation iPad with high resolution retina display, LTE support, 8 MP camera, quad core processor, 1 GB RAM and a brand new Apple TV.

Apple sends Invites for iPad 3 media event on March 7

Apple has starting sending out invitations for a media event scheduled for next week Wednesday, March 7. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. As the tagline on the invitation reads “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”  and recent rumored, the event is for iPad 3 launch. It is also said that a new Apple TV will also be revealed at the event. iPad 3is expected to have Retina display, quad core and LTE support. If you look carefully at the above picture, there is no Home Button on the device – I think, I’ll let you imagination do the working.

Samsung Galaxy S III to feature 4.8-inch display

According to BGR sources, Samsung is going to launch the Samsung Galaxy S III in over 50 “markets or cities” simultaneously. Now this is something big. Naaah! that is not big, big will be the display of the smartphone which is rumored to be 4.8 inch. Other rumored specs include Super AMOLED Plus HD screen, entire back of the smartphone will be ceramic, a quad-core processor, Android 4.0, 4G LTE, great cameras. We will update you as and when more information is uncovered.
