The app world is booming with new applications being released almost every second of the day. Of course there are numerous poker-themed apps as poker is by far the most popular card game in the world. I’m personally a great fan of Party Poker. We did some research and came up with our top 3 of the best poker apps, in descending order:

According to iMore, iPhone 5 is slated to be released in October but Apple is yet to select design for iPhone 5. Reports even say that the size might not see any change and even if Apple decides to make the display bigger  then don’t expect it to be bigger than 4-inch. If the rumors are to be believed then we might see iPhone 5 to be launched along with 7-inch iPad.

Apple has been constantly trying to integrate its products. Like bringing iOS like features to Mac OS and integrating iCloud to almost everyting in iOS and Mac OS. Now it looks like iCloud.com has got some extra features or might get one. According to 9to5mac, if you were early visitors of beta.icloud.com then you might have noticed Notes and Reminder apps added to iCloud Beta. Apple had stopped people from accessing beta.icloud.com and also developers.icloud.com (another iCloud website). Also when Tom K. went through of beta.icloud.com website code, he discovered references to iOS 6. It looks like these features will be part of iOS 6 and the new version of iOS might be released or previewed at WWDC 2012

According to Stuff.co.nz, a user from Whangarei was given the option of paying to highlight status updates and picture posts with a yellow background when he logged on to his Facebook page. It looks like Facebook is testing new feature to earn money from status updates. Facebook spokeswoman Mia Garlick confirmed the testing.

“We’re constantly testing new features across the site. This particular test is simply to gauge people’s interest in this method of sharing with their friends”

WWDC 2012 is just a month away and you would expect some or the other rumors to start floating. This time the rumors are for iOS 6 and iTunes 11. Already lots of speculation have taken place about features of upcoming versions of iOS and iTunes.

According to TechCrunch, iOS 6 is codenamed as Sundance. The new iOS 6 will have completely overhauled Maps app which will switch away from Google Maps. Apple will be using its on Mapping service in it. Apple had previously acquired mapping companies Placebase and Poly9 and had also bought 3D mapping firm C3 Technologies. These surely relates to above reports. Here is what 9to5mac has to say about it.

“The most important aspect of the new Maps application is a powerful new 3D mode. The 3D mode does not come enabled by default, but users simply need to click a 3D button that is conveniently and visibly stored in the app. Perhaps under the fold like the current traffic, pin, and map view buttons. This 3D mode is said to essentially be technology straight from C3 Technologies: beautiful, realisitic graphics based on de-classified missile target algorithms.”

iOS 6 might also see support for Siri API and we might also see a revamped version of iTunes – v11. Rumors of iTunes 11 having been doing rounds from quite some time, so a new version of iTunes can see daylight at WWDC 2012.

Long before we had heard some rumors about iPad Mini. Now those rumors have resurfaced again. According to iMore, Apple is all set to launch a 7-inch iPad in October. Reports further states that the talked about iPad mini will be priced at $200 – $250. Smaller iPad rumors have been doing rounds from 2010 when the original iPad was launched, but times have changed. Cheap Android tablets have flooded the market and Apple  might introduce a 7-inch tablet, low cost tablet to clear its competition.

Samsung has launched a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango powered smartphone – Omina M. It house a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 384 MB of RAM with 4-inch Super AMOLED display. It also features a 5-Megapixel rear camera and also front camera. It will also get Microsoft SkyDrive Cloud storage up to 25 GB. There is no news on release date and price but it is expected to be priced at INR 15,000.

Rovio has got quite a success with Angry Birds franchise. Recently, Angry Birds passed One Billion downloads and on this occasion Rovio released a video. At the end of the video, Rovio gave a hint about their next game which would follow-up Angry Birds. The company’s founder and CEO Mikael Hed revealed to Finnish TV channel Yle on Friday that the game will be called “Amazing Alex” and it has an educational element which centres on main character Alex, a curious young boy who loves to build things.
