Amazon announces $119 Kindle Paperwhite




Yesterday, its was Nokia and Motorola unveiling new devices at their respective events and today its Amazon. To start off with Amazon has announced a new Kindle called Kindle Paperwhite and it features a black and white E Ink capacitive display. It is said to have 25% more contrast than older generation Kindles and 62% more pixels i.e. 212 pixels per inch. According to Amazon, the battery of Kindle Paperwhite last for around 8 weeks. This eBook Reader has no physical buttons, is 9.1mm thick and comes with features like reading speed (now that something new). It is priced at $119 for WiFi variant, $179 for 3G variant and it will start shipping from 1st October. To add more to your goodies the older Kindle will now cost you just $69. All the above prices are for ad supported Kindle, add $20 more for ad-free devices.
