Back in July, there were reports that Amazon is testing its own smartphone. In less than a day Amazon will hold a media event, where it is expected to unveils its new Kindle Fire tablet. But The Verge reports that the new Kindle Fire will share its stage with a smartphone by Amazon. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 4.0 modified by Amazon just like we saw in Kindle Fire. Instead of Google Maps the new phone will come with Nokia Maps for mapping solutions. Amazon will not unveil much details about the phone as it is still not a finished product.
“Multiple sources have confirmed to The Verge that Amazon is working on a smartphone that runs a variant of the Kindle Fire’s Android-based operating system, and we’re now hearing that the device will be shown to the press tomorrow.”
